As a moderator if I saw a bad post, I'd delete it unles it would disrupt the discussion. I would then look up the rest of the users posts and do the same with their other junk posts. If there was a large number of junk posts, say more the 60%, I'd warn the member as well. On occassion, I'd even suspend the members account but this was usually only for plagiarism and spamming! The Warning thing we have right now is good, but I think it should be kinda like the reputation thing, where you can see which post (or profile) the reputation point was made from. This would let us not make redundant warnings on the same thing, or show that a post has not been warned. Problem: I've noticed that there's quite a few people who sign up with Astahost, make 10 short posts and then request hosting. Of course they are denied and have unnecessarily wasted their time and our time. Minimum Word Count For Tutorials: 500
I just had a discussion with opaque and it seems there are lots of so-called "Tutorials" which consist of just 3-4 lines of text summarizing some well-known windows settings tweaks - now these can hardly be considered as tutorials. Default Forum System In Cpanel And Fantastico
Right now the default install for a forum in cPanel and Fantastico are phpBB, now phpBB may say its all fine, we know better, they are at risk and are high targets right now. there new system isnt due out for a while now. The whole point of forcing moderators to approve tutorials is to a) make sure they aren't copied. make sure they apply. c) make sure they are good. As moderators, are we allowed to approve our own tutorials or would it be better to let another mod approve them. Allowing Users To Modify There Own Posts ?
Ive noticed there are sometimes PM's from users asking mods to modify there posts for them. a while back, one user made several requests in as many days. should we not allow users to modify there own posts ??? just a surgestion.

So, I was at around -26 credits this morning, when I made many posts (all quality, I assure you) and brought my credits up to -6.41. A Word About Moderator Preview

Lost Activation Email Tracking...
We seem to have a problem sometimes with new hosting or upgrade activation emails making it to the destination. Please list any reports that you get about this problem here. We need the username, user's email address as it is in their profile and the date and time the email was sent. The date and time is the date and time that the approval reply was made in the forums. Has anyone noticed that now when we read a topic, we only see the first post and a tree linking to all the posts in that topic? Then, when we would have to click on that post to read it, but we can only read them one at a time? Or is that only a feature for dial-up users? So far today ive warned two members, both for different types of spam. rhodesian.dragon first of all, as he posts some pretty useless posts and just usually makes very little contribution and quotes others a lot. Ive sent him a PM with the warning explaining why. And the second is prosorcerer for making very short posts. Why are the spammers getting more force, theres more every day. Can you help me keep an eye on these guys?

Lately I've been noticing issues with the Remember Me feature of the login. If I check the page everyday, it's fine. But if I am unable to visit (like yesterday when I was traveling) for one (or maybe it's two) days, then I get logged out. Is this intentional functionality? "select Post" Button In Lite Skin
In the default skin (Lite), the button/link "Select for bulk moderation" is gone. It is still there at the top right corner of a post when you use the Ambience skin. Can someone add the button in the Lite skin so we can use it?

Drauga has, from his first action of posting in the shoutbox, been a lewd and crude member. He has blatantly disobeyed the TOS, and told me he didn't care in a PM to me. As such, I feel he deserves a permanent ban, but I'm unsure of how to give this. His IP appears to be an AOL IP, so we can't ban him that way. I'm really liking the credit transfer idea. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but it is a great idea. I believe recent hacks have taken place here, but I can't tell who has been affected. I know I was but to know how they got in is a different story. A noticable difference is permission settings, I know for starters we don't need execute permissions on our text files, yet this seems to be the case, a lot of files that don't need execute have it. Some of my configuration files were given write access and were Injected to make users who visited my site download a Windows dll file.
I noticed that it's been reinstated as privilege. Now today I had this sad blink (uhm am using weird words to not cuss) posting crap basically. Not only that but he had removed the content from many of his posts replacing it with absolute crap, and since some were topic starters I had to remove the topics. Is there any way to allow members the edit posts button but restrict it? Or maybe make it an extra when they have x posts??
Guys, did you also notice that since a while, the remember me function of login thingy doesn't work anymore?. I mean, normally the forum would set a cookie so you won't have to login all the time for everytime you visit the forums.
