Uhm I've been noticing that in a week my credits dropped from over 100 to 45. Can someone explain to me what happened? Because to my knowledge, I didn't delete my own posts, and I hardly think anyone here would go about deleting my posts - unless someone is not telling me. Which is ok - but then let another admin know. My idea is : someone found the method *cough* to deduct credits. just to check ... after making the PREVIOUS post my count dropped to 44.08..

The Warning thing we have right now is good, but I think it should be kinda like the reputation thing, where you can see which post (or profile) the reputation point was made from. This would let us not make redundant warnings on the same thing, or show that a post has not been warned. I noticed that it's been reinstated as privilege. Now today I had this sad blink (uhm am using weird words to not cuss) posting crap basically. Not only that but he had removed the content from many of his posts replacing it with absolute crap, and since some were topic starters I had to remove the topics. I think we should implement reCAPTCHA in our forums since apparently those work a lot better and maybe add a simple math quiz so that we can make sure that it's a human and not a bot registering. Need Suggestions From The Staff - Again!
Well, I've cleaned out the remaining inactive moderators. Every staff member that has served here has done a great job but eventually, their lives either get too busy to hang out here as much as they used to or they just lose interest. And usually even active staff member tend to do less moderating after a while which is my situation. The job is a lot of work sometimes! Allowing Users To Modify There Own Posts ?
Ive noticed there are sometimes PM's from users asking mods to modify there posts for them. a while back, one user made several requests in as many days. should we not allow users to modify there own posts ??? just a surgestion.
I'm not sure, but I think that astahost, who used to be very organized... is starting to resemble Trap17 (not that it's very bad)... Has anyone noticed that now when we read a topic, we only see the first post and a tree linking to all the posts in that topic? Then, when we would have to click on that post to read it, but we can only read them one at a time? Or is that only a feature for dial-up users? I believe recent hacks have taken place here, but I can't tell who has been affected. I know I was but to know how they got in is a different story. A noticable difference is permission settings, I know for starters we don't need execute permissions on our text files, yet this seems to be the case, a lot of files that don't need execute have it. Some of my configuration files were given write access and were Injected to make users who visited my site download a Windows dll file.
Member Registration Suggestion
Problem: I've noticed that there's quite a few people who sign up with Astahost, make 10 short posts and then request hosting. Of course they are denied and have unnecessarily wasted their time and our time. The whole point of forcing moderators to approve tutorials is to a) make sure they aren't copied. make sure they apply. c) make sure they are good. As moderators, are we allowed to approve our own tutorials or would it be better to let another mod approve them. While denying some hosting request, I noticed an option that I am sure wasn't there before - "Multi-Moderation" (bottom of the hosting request topic page). I can see that it has "Deny", "Approve Plan 1" and "Approve Plan 2", but I don't know how each of these functions. Yesterday I had slightly above 0 credits. Today I am at negative 4. Now, as I see it, there are two possibilities: 1) Something wrong with the credit script 2) Somebody deleted a whole thread with some of my posts in it. Adjustment To The Deletion Of Threads
I think whenever we use the delete button to delete a post, it should make a record of it somewhere, along with the number of credits lost. Also, it would be nice if we could have it e-mail the person as well. This would cut down on the "I had X credits, and now I have X-Z credits but it's only been Y days", and when one of tose pops up, we could easily check and say you lost A credits for deleetion of post B, and if you don't beleive us, check your email. ~Viz P.S. on a si
